2012 Reunion

2012 Reunion held at the Barnstaple Hotel Barnstaple on the weekend of 18th to 21st of October 2012

Well I am sure you will all agree that we had a great weekend thanks in the main to Mike Ross, by the end of play on Thursday night or was it 3am Friday I had lost my voice even after copious amounts of Rum. The visits to Instow and Fremington were memorable especially as this may have been our last chance. Those of you that visited Fremington May have noticed that the Hut 42 sign had disappeared will the EX B Trooper who nicked it please own up I only wish that I had thought of pinching it first.
Saturday night again was excellent with about 120 in attendance I only managed to last until half past one in the morning but the bar was still buzzing when I left to Mike Ross well done that man see if you can beat this one in 2014.
Geordie

On a sadder note most of you will remember or have heard of the tragic loss of Cpls Quail, Peacock and Young of 116 Company when 2 LVTs sank of Westward Ho, on the 15th of March 1960 Cpls Young and Peacock were Buried at Northam cemetery nr Bideford . On Saturday morning myself Geordie Butler, Jock Richie and Geordie Stokoe travelled to Northam to try and locate the Graves, we only managed to find the grave of Dave Peacock who Jock Richie and Geordie Stokoe had served with at Fremington Hedley placed a leaf cross at the grave (photograph below)
