For our next reunion Wagon Trail 16 the dates are 20 October to 23 October 2016.  The committee as agreed that each amphibious association member might bring two guests to the reunion.  If you will be inviting guests please ensure that our dress standards are maintained for our dinner on the Saturday night.  As tenpin bowling was very popular in 2014 we have decided to give it another shot at that again in 2016.  Your entertainment for the dinner night is not confirmed but will be of a very good standard.  Of course there will be our AGM on the Friday afternoon.

Hi Everyone.  At last I can now give you all an outline of the reunion for 2016. Its called Wagon Trial 16.  As in my previous notes you may bring two guests for the weekend. Which will run from Friday 21 October to Sunday 23October 2016.  The hotel will take bookings from 11 January 2016.  Please quote Wagon Trial 16.  The telephone number for the Barnstaple Hotel is 01271376221.

Friday 21 October from1030hrs Tenpin bowling. AGM 1500hrs.  Dinner 1900hrs followed by a Singer Guitarist from 2030hrs in the Arlington Room.  Dress NO JEANS PLEASE Yes you can dance to this act. He was recommended and I did hear him during the WOs SNCOs weekend.Saturday 22 October Dinner will be early 1830hrs for 1900hrs. Normal standard of dress please. Entertainment for the night will commence with the Barnstaple Male Voice Choir follow by a Lady singer.  I shall be inviting the Corps President Major General CEG Carrington CB CBE to the reunion. I shall confirm his acceptance at a later date.  There is no punctuation in this entry as the site does not except any punctuation.

While pressing the keys today I can inform that the committee has approved that we open our doors to ex Corps personnel joining the Branch. This of course will keep our numbers up as we are all getting older and falling off the perch. On all the Friday night dinners in the past there has been a number of guest who served at Borden and Taunton who would I am sure love to join our branch.  The total number of members in our both Corps Association at present is just over five thousand worldwide.  But once again as time passes by we will get smaller. So while we can. Lets enjoy our friendship with other Corps personnel.  A full admin instruction for Wagon Trail 16 will follow once all admin is in place.  In the mean time stay well you DUKW Lads and stay safe.

Mike
